Finding a Home in Tech
Yara Tercero – Elastic Software Engineer
Tanisha L. Turner – Elastic Stack Support Engineer II
What does working as a software engineer at a distributed, open-source company look like? It wasn’t a direct path into tech for Yara. After going to college for political science and considering a career in government, she decided to take a chance and pursue her newfound passion. Yara has had experience working at both startups and larger established companies like LinkedIn and Elastic. Her current role as part of a growing team of engineers revolves around Elastic’s detection engine – part of the security solution.
Tanisha L. Turner is an experienced cyber security professional in security operations, malware analysis & identification, and threat investigation. She participates in non-profit cyber security organizations and is active in information security communities. She is the first Elastician to be featured on a global list of recognized Epic Women in Cybersecurity. She has a Bachelors of Science in Information Security and an Associate of Science in Network Security.
