We are an all-volunteer fueled organization committed to leveraging our collective experience by sharing our time, expertise or investment to encourage each other to greater achievement in the tech industry.
Professionals in the midst of their careers mentor college students or professional women seeking additional guidance. Our program begins in the fall and concludes in the spring; each small group meets approximately 5 times. Enrollment opens in July!
Our legendary free coding lab program, Coding in Our Neighborhoods (CodeON), was started in a laundromat in 2015. The free after-school coding and computer technology classes are led by tech company employees and adult coding bootcamp volunteers. Each series takes place in kid-friendly, accessible locations in economically struggling areas of Charleston – places like community centers, churches and foster homes.
In partnership with the National Society of Black Engineers, Charleston Women in Tech co-hosts an annual STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) event that showcases engaging new technologies and how they’re connected to technology careers. The event is always free!
Charleston Girls in Tech (GiT) is a program devoted to young women aged 12-18 who are interested in any aspect of Tech. It is affiliated with Charleston Women in Tech that serves the same mission - we strive to create opportunities to meet others with similar interests and learn more about the IT field. NO prior experience is necessary. To join please fill out the form below and have a parent/guardian fill out the liability/release section at the end. We will send you updates regarding all future virtual and live events.
